Ante: The initial bet that each player is required to place before the cards are dealt.
Blind (Chaal): A forced bet made before the cards are dealt. The player making the blind bet has the option to see the first player’s cards or play without seeing them.
Boot (Pot): The total amount of money in the centre of the table, which is won by the player with the best hand.
Chaal: Matching the current bet made by the previous player to stay in the game.
Dealer (Delar): The person responsible for dealing the cards. In some variations, the dealer rotates clockwise after each hand.
Fold (Pack): To forfeit the current hand and lose any money already bet. The player who folds cannot participate in the current round.
High Card: When no player has a valid hand, the winner is determined by the highest card in their possession.
Joker: In some variations, a specific card is designated as a joker and can substitute for any other card.
Pair (Two of a Kind): Two cards of the same rank.
Sequence (Run): Three consecutive cards of the same suit. A sequence can start with either the highest or lowest card in the suit.
Colour (Flush): Three cards of the same suit, not necessarily in sequence.
Pure Sequence (Straight Flush): Three consecutive cards of the same suit.
Trail (Set/Trio): Three cards of the same rank.
Side Show: A feature that allows a player to request to see another player’s cards before deciding to bet.
Show (Open): The stage in the game where players reveal their cards, and the winner is determined based on the hand rankings.
Pack (Fold): To discard one’s cards and forfeit the current hand.
Pot Limit: A variation where the maximum bet is determined by the current amount in the pot.
Table Stake: A variation where a player can only bet up to the amount they have on the table.
Lowest Card Wild: A variation where the lowest card in each player’s hand becomes a wild card.
High Card Wild: A variation where the highest card in each player’s hand becomes a wild card.
